Planning ratios (starting points)
Prefer the interactive planner above when you know head counts. These GuestSlice planning ratios are a backup reference — not survey results. “Variety” means vegetarian plus specialty combined.

Toppings are only part of the job. The pizza party calculator also estimates pizza count ranges, drinks, and sides, and can print or download a one-page order sheet.
Frequently asked questions
What's the most popular pizza topping?
Pepperoni is often reported as a leading U.S. topping in industry roundups, with plain cheese close behind — rankings vary by year and source. For mixed groups, GuestSlice’s planning guidance is to keep cheese and pepperoni as a large share unless you know your crowd prefers otherwise.
How does the planner choose a split?
It uses the same guest-weighted heuristics as the homepage calculator: kids skew toward cheese, teens add pepperoni weight, and adults pull more vegetarian/specialty variety. Counts are whole pizzas via largest-remainder rounding — edit freely.
How many topping varieties should I order?
A practical rule of thumb is about one variety for every 3–4 pizzas. Too few and picky eaters miss out; too many and specialty pies may go half-eaten. Adjust for what you know about your guests.
